Preliminary A-F Letter Grade Accountability System
On September 25, 2017, the Arizona State Board of Education (SBE) approved cut scores and other measures for the A-F letter grade accountability system. On October 6, the SBE provided a guidance document that offers information to schools about the categories of posting and next steps for the issuance of final letter grades in Spring 2018.
Why are the grades preliminary? Since the adoption of the accountability system, SBE has identified various technical issues that require review and/or field validation. To capture feedback from the field, the SBE staff will host a series of open houses through November 6, 2017.
