Kyrene students continue to grow and excel on AzMERIT

2019 AzMERIT results are now available, and Kyrene School District’s results demonstrate the District’s ongoing commitment to ensuring all students learn, lead and achieve. The AzMERIT assessment measures critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities as well as core topics in mathematics, English language arts and science. AzMERIT results show Kyrene students continue to grow, excel and outperform students from charter schools and peer districts.
In mathematics, Kyrene schools passed at a rate of 57%, outperforming the statewide average (42%), charter schools (48%) and other districts (41%). Eight Kyrene schools scored in the top 10% of all district and charter schools for the math portion of the test.
In English language arts, 60% of Kyrene students passed, outperforming the statewide average (42%), charter schools (51%) and other districts (40%). Eight Kyrene schools ranked in the top 10% of all charter and district schools with 72% of all students showing growth.
