Reporting your student's absence
Absences
The Manitas school bell rings at 9:05 AM. The tardy bell rings at 9:10 and students not in class at 9:10am are officially tardy. Per the KSD Family Handbook: Tardy is defined as arriving at school OR class after the scheduled start time. Excessive tardiness either excused or unexcused can result in disciplinary action. Please be at school on time.
Parents are asked to call our 24-hour attendance line at 480-541-3601 to report a student absence within 2 hours of the start of each school day (an email/voicemail to the teacher or Health Office does not qualify as reporting an attendance.) Please call the attendance line and leave a message on the voice mail indicating the student's name (please spell the name), grade, date(s) of the absence and the reason for absence (if your student is sick we ask that you also include symptoms of the illness). If we do not receive a parent phone call, the student will be marked as truant.
