Retrieval of Student Belongings

Retrieval of Student Belongings - May 18-20

As the 2019-20 school year comes to a close, we have worked with the Kyrene Emergency Management Team to plan for the safe and organized retrieval of students’ personal belongings from campus, as well as the return of items that belong to the school.

Cerritos will use the following process to ensure social distancing:

  • Students’ classroom belongings will be packaged into individual bags. Staff will be following CDC guidelines for social distancing and hand washing during this process.
  • Families can enter the Cerritos staff parking lot and proceed through the gate to the playground, down the fire lane to the entrance near the MPR doors during their designated time. There will be signs posted.
  • Stay in your car.
  • Please have a card ready that includes your child’s name and teacher. Hand this card to the staff member who will arrange for retrieval of your items.
  • Staff volunteers will treat this like a rainy day pick up. We will use our radios to communicate to one another to grab your student’s items and bring them to your car.
  • Medicines from the health office will be distributed with student materials.
  • Yeabooks (if available) will also be distributed at this time.
  • Library books may also be returned to school during this process.
  • Families can exit by proceeding up the hill and around the backside of Altadena and through the large gate that exits into the upper parking lot of Altadena.  Altadena will be using the joint parking lot for their pick up process, so please do not park there unless picking up Altadena items.
