Kyrene Kicks Off School Year With 21 Schools Recognized for Positive Behavior Intervention

Twenty-one Kyrene Schools have been recognized for their hard work implementing and maintaining Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to improve academic and behavioral outcomes for students. Kyrene Schools account for 22% of Arizona schools receiving awards this year from the Arizona PBIS Coalition.

“PBIS is an essential framework for establishing clear, consistent expectations for our students,” Kyrene de la Mariposa Computer Science Academy Principal Spencer Fallgatter said. “It supports their academic and social growth, ensures every child has the structure they need to succeed, and helps them meet expectations—fostering both learning and positive behavior.”
