Transportation Eligibility

Bus Transportation is not mandated by the legislature, but a privilege offered by the Kyrene School District. Transportation service will be offered to:

Elementary Students - Students who attend their home school, and lives more than 1.5 mile from the school of attendance.
Middle School Students - Students who attend their home school, and lives more than 2 miles from the school of attendance.
Open Enrollment - Students who reside in South Phoenix, and Maricopa are eligible for transportation to designated schools. You can view those designated schools here. For Open Enrollment a request must be submitted to the transportation department before placement on a bus route.
Exceptional Student Services - Students within this program are eligible for specialized transportation if designated in your IEP. Please reach out to your student(s) school for more information.
