Emergency Contact Verification

Families are required to verify emergency contact information every year. This is critical for your school to be able to reach you in the event of an emergency. On Monday, July 22, parents will be asked to log in to your ParentVUE account to verify your contact information and to acknowledge several other important annual forms.

All Kyrene parents and guardians have a ParentVUE account, and all Kyrene students have a StudentVUE account. Parents can also use the portal to obtain student attendance information, grades, and important documents. In upper grade levels, students use StudentVUE to access assignments and schedules. Kyrene has compiled answers to frequently asked questions about ParentVUE and StudentVUE.

Meet the Teacher

Kyrene’s annual Meet the Teacher events give families an opportunity to get acquainted with your individual schools. All schools will hold Meet the Teacher events on Monday, July 22. Please watch for more specific times and details to come from your child’s individual school.

Middle schools from 1 to 4 pm. Elementary schools begin at 5 pm.

Supply Lists

Basic grade-level supply lists are available online. IMPORTANT: Please check your school’s individual page for the most current and specific supply lists, which may vary by school and by grade level. This list is a guideline only and may not reflect the needs of every classroom or every school. Schools will share more information on websites, via email or during Meet the Teacher events.

School Meals

Kyrene schools offer nutritious meals at a low cost. Families seeking reduced-price or free meals must submit an application for assistance or visit kyrene.org/foodservices for more information.

Kyrene uses an online system for managing school meal accounts. If you do not already have an account, please visit the payment portal below to register. Meal account balances can be checked at any time through LinqConnect. Cash and checks made payable to Kyrene School District are accepted at school sites as well.

Payment Portal

Kyrene School District has a convenient payment portal for parents to pay for everything from athletics to field trips. The InTouch payment portal will provide parents with digital receipts for all of your transactions. You can even use it to make a year’s tax credit donation to the school of your choice. Register once and use the portal all year. (Note: payments for Preschool, Kids Club and After Hours are made through Community Education.

Communications

Families will receive a school newsletter on a regular basis, which will highlight important events, dates, activities, and achievements. Most communication will be digital and will be sent to the primary email and phone number on file. Parents and guardians do not need to sign up for email communications.

IMPORTANT: In the event of an emergency, text messages are the fastest and most effective way to communicate information to families. You must opt in to receive text communications! Text “Y” or “yes” to 67587 to begin receiving text messages from both your child’s school and the Kyrene School District.

Bus Stops and Routes

Kyrene is proud to provide transportation for students in an environment that is safe, courteous, and on time. Be sure to review the Bus Rules and expectations as well as our video reviewing seat belt usage during the bus ride.

Note: Even if your child has ridden the bus in the past, please check the online transportation portal to verify eligibility and bus stop locations!

Safety & Security

The safety of students, staff and visitors is the highest priority in Kyrene School District. Kyrene provides a safe environment for teaching and learning through continual training, secure facilities, and a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). The EOP encompasses school drills, site security teams, digital threat monitoring, and security features to prevent access to school buildings.

The Safety & Security section of the Kyrene website, Kyrene.org/safe, provides an overview of the infrastructure, personnel, operations, communications and partnerships that enhance campus security. Kyrene is constantly reviewing and testing our emergency operations to ensure they are current, consistent and effective, so that we may continue to respond to the evolving needs of our schools and community.
