Fight the Flu
It's never too late to fight the Flu. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), each year
millions of children get sick with seasonal flu; thousands of children are hospitalized with flu-related complications.
The best way to prevent flu is with a flu vaccine. The CDC recommends everyone 6 months and older get a seasonal flu vaccine each year, ideally by the end of October.
Take 3 Actions
The CDC reminds you to "Take 3 Actions" to manage and prevent the spread of the flu virus:
- Get yourself and your family vaccinated
- A yearly flu vaccine is the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses.
- Stop the Spread
- Take everyday preventative actions to stop the spread of flu viruses. Avoid close contact with sick people, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, cover your coughs and sneezes, wash your hands often (with soap and water).
- Ask your Medical Provider about flu antivirals
- Antiviral drugs can be used to treat flu illness and can make illness milder and shorten the time you are sick.
