SUN Bucks: Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer-EBT)

SUN Bucks Overview

The SUN Bucks Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer program (SUN Bucks) is a partnership between the Arizona Department of Education (ADE), the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) to provide grocery-buying benefits to low-income families with school-aged children who lose access to free or reduced-price school meals when schools are closed for the summer.

Students meeting the eligibility requirements will receive a one-time payment of $120.

The card can be used to purchase eligible food items at any store (in-person or online) that accepts SNAP. Please note, SUN Bucks benefits must be used within 122 days from the day the benefits were added to your SUN Bucks account. Any benefits remaining on the card after 122 days will expire.
