Middle School Scholarships

Each year KEA members sponsor the KEA Middle School Scholarships. The $50 scholarships are awarded to three students at each Kyrene middle school to help offset the cost of books, materials, and activities as the students enter high school.

The eighth grade staff at each school determines the criteria for selecting scholarship recipients. The staffs consider academic achievement, effort, need, and/or contribution to the school community.

KEA representatives present the scholarships at school ceremonies in May. The scholarships are named for three long-time Kyrene teachers and KEA activists who have passed on: Laurie Crawford, Linda Kronberg, and Debbie Nichols-Gentis.
