Meet the Assistant Principal, Amy Ordonez
My name is Amy Ordonez and I am so excited to be the new assistant principal at Milenio. For me, it is like coming home. I have been in Kyrene for all of my 19 years in education. I was a teacher at Milenio for 10 years, from 2003-2004 through the 2013-2014 school year. During these years I taught 3rd grade, ¾ multiage, 4th grade and 1st grade. After leaving Milenio I was a math coach, academic interventionist and now an assistant principal for the past 4 years.
My husband and I are both native Arizonans and have been married for 18 years. We have a son, Joshua, who will be a sophomore at Desert Vista where he is very involved in matching band and theater. I received my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in Exercise Science and Physical Education in 1997 and spent a few years as an Athletic Trainer. In 2001, I went back to school and received my post-baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. In 2019, I received my Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Educational Administration.
I am an avid sports fan and you will always find me cheering on my Sun Devils!!! I also love reading, watching movies, playing sports and spending time traveling with my family, especially Disneyland! I look forward to getting to know the staff, students and Milenio families.
