Melissa Foster

I am very excited to be returning to Kyrene as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) after being away for 4 years.  Previously, I taught in Kyrene as a classroom teacher for 12 years, teaching Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade.  All 12 years were done at Cerritos Elementary, here in Kyrene.  I developed a passion for early literacy and intervention during this time in the classroom, and went back to school, taking classes through NAU online, while teaching full time.  The past 4 years, I have been working in private therapy with children ages 2-27.  Although I loved my time in private, I am ready to return to the schools.  My husband and I have 2 boys, our oldest starting 9th grade in high school at Desert Vista and our youngest starting 6th grade at Altadena.  Both of our boys play baseball, so much of our time is spent at the ball fields, which we love!  I'm looking forward to meeting all the staff and students at Esperanza!  Cheers to a great year!
