Weclome to the 2019-2020 school year! I am proud to be the Assistant Principal of Kyrene del Cielo Elementary. My career in education started 16 years ago when I taught 6th grade ELA. I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Sociology, a master’s degree in Elementary Education from University of Phoenix, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. This school year marks my second year as an Assistant Principal at Kyrene del Cielo. Over the past year I have found the Cielo community, teachers, and families to be so supportive, thoughtful, caring, and dedicated to education. Before joining the Cielo family, I served in education roles outside of the classroom. Most recently, I was an Instructional Technology Curriculum Specialist and a Reading Interventionist. Through my career I have thoroughly enjoyed watching students develop their talents and grow academically. Additionally, I look forward to partnering with parents and community members to strengthen our local schools. 

I moved to Arizona in 2000 to complete my degree at Arizona State. I am originally from the beautiful state of Ohio. However, the long winters were not appealing as I grew older. My husband and I have been married for 15 years, and we have an amazing 13 year old daughter in 8th grade. My husband and I enjoy watching hockey, vacationing at the beach, and spending time with our family.

I am excited to continue to partner with all of the amazing Cielo families! I firmly believe that a strong school is made when we have strong families and strong teamwork. I look forward to working with you and your children this year. Please remember I am available for you and your child.
