Meet Mrs. Borum
Degrees and Certifications:
B.A. Communication MBA MA Counseling
It goes without saying that it has been a difficult time for all of us. I am excited and eager to see everyone whether in person or online!
My hope is that we all give ourselves grace as we navigate these times! With this new school year, we have the amazing opportunity to continue to learn, grow and be our best. One day at a time! Please don’t feel guilty for too many snacks or too much Netflix over the past couple of months. =) We have all learned to cope in various ways. What matters is that we are back together!! As your school counselor, I am here for you.
A little about my background… I graduated from George Mason University in Virginia then received my MBA from Strayer University in Maryland. I worked in the business world (National Geographic being one of my favorite!) for some time and then decided to make a career change! I graduated from ORU in Oklahoma with a masters in Counseling and then moved to AZ in 2006. I have worked at numerous clinics in public mental health and most recently worked at a psychiatric hospital in Tempe. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mike and daughter, Sasha. I absolutely love the beach and reading. I love to sing at my church and work in the children’s ministry.
My wish for every KTA student is to be healthy, happy, safe and successful. As the school counselor, I will work together with you to support your child’s social and emotional needs. My door is open to you at any time. It is proven that student’s academic success can be fully realized when they are emotionally healthy. I am here to walk with you and your family on this journey. I want to assure you that our sessions together will be kept in the strictest confidence. Be advised that treatment may be difficult and emotionally painful as issues are worked through in the process. These times are usually short lived and can be beneficial to healing. Please contact me at any time to discuss your child’s specific needs. I look forward to meeting with you.
Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Kind.
Sending you love and kindness. ~Mrs. Borum
