Welcome to 8th grade science! I am so excited to meet all of you and have a fantastic year! I was born and raised here in Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University with a major in elementary education and a minor in business. When I am not in the classroom I enjoy hiking, boating, and exploring Arizona, so if you're ever looking for some beautiful hikes or places to visit I would love to share what I have found!
Science has always held a special place in my heart and I look forward to sharing my passion for it. In my classroom students will engage in inquiry thinking as well as engineering design practices, and will explore the world around them by designing and conducting experiments and projects. In addition to expanding students' scientific knowledge they will also leave 8th grade prepared for high school and with the mindset of lifelong learning and curiosity. This year we will live by the quote "Children must be taught how to think, not what to think" by Margaret Mead and become scientists not in our professions but in the way we interact with the world around us.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me at any time!
