    The School Effectiveness Department provides support to school leaders to ensure the success of our Kyrene students. That support extends to teachers, staff, parents, and community members. 


    Family Resource Center

    The Kyrene Family Resource Center supports basic needs in order for all Kyrene students to achieve their maximum potential. Kyrene families and employees are welcome to receive support with immediate needs, including food, gently used school clothing, hygiene supplies, school supplies, and connections to outside agencies and resources. 

    The Kyrene Family Resource Center strives to support Kyrene families with basic needs to help students achieve their best in school!

    Kyrene Athletic Program  

    Where champions are made!  

    Kyrene offers both “cut” and “non-cut” sports for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Cut sports include soccer, basketball, volleyball, cheer, softball, and baseball. The non-cut athletic opportunities include cross country, wrestling, and track and field. Each year, over 3,000 middle school students from the Tempe, Chandler, and Phoenix area participate in the Kyrene Athletic Program. This Program provides a positive, high-quality sports program that emphasizes participation, teamwork, skill development, and sportsmanship. For additional information click here

    Kyrene's Professional Development

    Kyrene employees use Performance Matters professional management system to access required district courses as well as enrichment professional development hours. For additional information click here.


    Kyrene Teacher Induction Program

    All certified teachers new to the district, first-time or experienced professionals, are required to attend four days of onboarding orientation prior to the return of continuing teachers. Orientation allows new employees to become familiar with the Kyrene School District organization as well as job responsibilities and school culture. For more information, click here

    National Board Certification

    Kyrene supports the National Board Certification process by offering in house pre-candidacy classes using the curriculum developed by the Arizona K12 Center. During candidacy, monthly support meetings are held in Kyrene with an NBCT specially trained in facilitating candidates through the process. Once the certification is achieved, Kyrene awards an additional stipend amount in the teacher's contract for the life of the certificate. For additional information, click here


    Student Agency Programs

    Kyrene is pleased to offer various student programs at some of our school sites. We offer an AVID program, IB World School, and Leader in Me.


    Kyrene Alternative to Suspension Program

    The Kyrene Alternative to Suspension Program provides a safe and nurturing environment with opportunities for Kyrene students to learn skills and strategies to be successful in school and beyond. We accommodate the unique educational social and emotional needs of individual students with character education, student-centered learning, intervention, and counseling. Our staff works collaboratively with schools, families, and the community to provide continued support for our Kyrene students. For additional information, click here.
