I am thrilled to join the Altadena staff as a Physical Education teacher.  I have been serving Kyrene families for over 20 years as a Language Arts teacher, Physical Education teacher, Health teacher, Student Advisor, and Dean of Students in four different middle schools. I have worked at four of the six Kyrene middle schools but the duration of my career in Kyrene has been spent at Altadena so it feels like I have returned home.

Kyrene Altadena is a special place to me.  I was proudly part of the original staff that opened the school and began the long tradition of excellence in academics and athletics.  I am proud to say that I was an original cross country coach recruiting runners out of my PE class to join a team that would finish top in the district in it's first year and go on to winning a string of championships on both boys and girls sides.  I was also an administrator on campus when we became an A+ school and being part of that committee and experiencing the synergy at school was one of the best years of my career.

I grew up in WI and attained my Bachelors of Science in Education before moving to Arizona.  I earned my masters degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.  Currently I live Chandler with my husband, Bill and our six year old Doberman named Scout.  We enjoy recreational outdoor activities in the mountains or the beach and have recently travelled to Africa and South America and hope to continue crossing places off our bucket lists!

I look forward to working with all the Altadena Panthers.  It is my hope to create a space where every student feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to be their very best!
