About the Assistant Principal
My name is Emily Pieper and this is my 7th year as the very proud Assistant Principal here at Kyrene de la Colina. I am honored to be part of the Colina family as I build relationships with all students, staff, parents and community members.
Prior to my time here at Colina, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University and taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade in various districts around the valley. After earning my master’s degree in Educational Administration and Principal Certificate, I began working as an Instructional Coach, mentoring and supporting teachers and students on campus in the Roosevelt School District. Through these experiences, I learned hard work, positivity and strong relationships have the most impact on creating a positive learning environment for all students to thrive in.
I became an educator because I have a passion for learning and empowering all children to reach their full potential. As a classroom teacher, it was my goal to encourage and support my students in achieving social, emotional and academic growth. As an Assistant Principal, I enjoy getting to know all the Colina families and inspiring young minds to continue demonstrating excellent character.
I was born and raised in Arizona and love the sun and outdoors! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two-year-old twin daughters, Everly and Adeline. We have family in Arizona and New England and are huge Boston Redsox and Arizona Cardinal fans. In the summer we travel to my husband’s family lake house in New Hampshire where we swim, bike, and barbeque. Family and friendships are what keep us grounded and truly happy.
It is my pleasure to serve our Colina community. I look forward to an eventful year filled with joy, laughter and lots of learning!
