  • About the Assistant Principal

My name is Emily Pieper and I am the very proud Assistant Principal here at Kyrene de la Colina. I am honored to be part of the Colina family as I build relationships with all students, staff, parents and community members.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University and have taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade in various districts around the valley. After earning my master’s degree in Educational Administration and Principal Certificate, I began working as an Instructional Coach mentoring and supporting teachers and students on campus. Through my experiences, I have learned hard work, positivity and strong relationships have the most impact in creating a positive learning environment for all students to thrive in.

I became a teacher because I have a passion for learning and empowering all children in reaching their full potential. As a classroom teacher, it was my goal to encourage and support my students in achieving social, emotional and academic growth. As an Assistant Principal, I am excited to get to know all Colina families and inspire young minds to continue demonstrating excellent character.

I was born and raised in Arizona and love the sun and outdoors! In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, traveling and trying out new restaurants around the valley. My husband and I live in Chandler with our dog Fenway.  We have family in Arizona and New England and are huge Boston Redsox and Arizona Cardinal fans. In the summer we travel to my husband’s family lake house in New Hampshire where we swim, bike, and barbeque. Family and friendships are what keep us grounded and truly happy.

It is my pleasure to serve our Colina community. I look forward to an eventful year filled with joy, laughter and lots of learning!

    Academically yours,

    Emily Pieper, M.A. Ed
