About Ms. Shelba Sikes
Dear Parents and Students,I would like to welcome you to the Pueblo family, and if you have just been on vacation, Welcome back.
I have been a Pueblo family member since 1996 when I was hired in the middle of the year to coach basketball and softball. At the time I was teaching on the Gila River Indian Reservation at several elementary schools and working with the adult community by early evening at the newly developed Wellness Center.I was also serving in the Army Reserves.
I was fortunate enough to be hired the following school year as an 8th grade Language Arts teacher. I have since worn many hats at Pueblo and have embraced each exciting and challenging role. I have been a teacher in the core academic classrooms, electives classrooms, special services classrooms and a coach for five different sports. My greatest role is being your childs advocate for their educational and amazing community experience here at Pueblo.
I am excited to work with your student and you this school year. I have a challenging and fun-filled year planned.
I am a very passionate, patient, dedicated, and hardworking person who loves their students(My kiddos); that I teach and learn from every day. I believe in doing my very best when it comes to the art of teaching; which promotes a positive and safe learning environment for all of us.
I believe in partnerships; parents, students, teachers and administration must work together to enhance the opportunities for student growth and understanding. Working together we can focus on what will most benefit our students as they strive for success.Just hop on and enjoy the journey! My mission statement is to be present in the now and hopeful for the future in my professional and personal life; my hope is that we can all collectively have an exciting and productive year. Remember to take a deep breath and don't forget to exhale!Sincerely,Ms. Shelba Sikes
