Hello 7th graders!! Welcome back! My name is JoAnne Skoglund and I am really excited to be your science teacher this year on 7B! It is going to be an awesome year!

A little about me. I am originally from Chicago (Cubs not Sox) and my amazing husband and I have been here in Ahwatukee for the last 15 years. That is Dozer, our dog, to the left. He is crazy but we love him! I get really excited when it comes to teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) but when I am not at school some of my favorite things to do are hike (you'll find me after school on South Mountain), read (please recommend good books to me), shop (Target and Amazon know me very, very well!), listen to music (I'm a country girl), go to the sand dunes (Gordon's Well), ski (snow and water) and hang out on the lake at my family's cottage in Michigan. I set my DVR for Duck Dynasty (happy, happy, happy), Big Bang Theory (soft kitty rules), Fast n' Loud (go Gas Monkeys), Farm Kings (would love to have a farm) and anything on the Discovery Channel. I am highly qualified in both Math and Science and this year marks my 10th year in Kyrene.

Get ready for a great year as we cooperatively solve authentic, real-world problems and learn about the world around us by thinking like scientists and designing like engineers!
