Meet Mr. Guerrero
Greetings to all of my fourth graders and their families! My name is Vico Guerrero and I have 22 years of experience teaching grades 4th through 6th grade. I have two daughters who love dance as members of the Desert Vista Dance Team. Gabrielle is a senior and Kristiana is entering her sophomore year. My wife is a professor at ASU. The four of us spend time in San Diego where my wife and I grew up. I enjoy being at the beach doing my favorite activity, surfing. I also enjoy traveling, reading, playing sports, keeping up my German skills, and visiting amusement parks.
I received a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University where I majored in Economics and minored in German. I earned my teaching certificate at The University of Arizona and completed a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at ASU.
I believe in challenging myself and my students to be life-long learners who are curious and take the knowledge that they learn in the classroom and apply it to real-life situations. I hope to inspire each one of my students to cultivate a passion for learning. This includes building a classroom community where all members are valued for their unique contributions to our collaborative learning environment.
It’s always exciting to start a new year establishing a community of learners who are intrigued by the concept of acquiring knowledge. I look forward to a great year!!!
