State Assessment Reporting

Frequently Asked Questions about AzM2

  • Q: When do families receive individual results?

    Posted by:

A: Individual assessment results for students in grades 3 through 8 are now available in ParentVue. Students in grade 8 only will be mailed a copy of their results to have for personal records in late July. The AzSci was in a field test year, so no individual results were shared with Kyrene or families this year.

  • Q: What do my child’s results mean? Can you help me understand the report?

    Posted by:

A: State assessments consist of items aligned to subject and grade level expectations. In brief, they measure progress students have made in each tested subject.  Please keep in mind these assessments are only one measure of student progress. The test is like an annual checkup—an opportunity to observe how students are doing. Just as doctors check height and weight, teachers and families use these tests to check how students are performing in tested subjects.

The Arizona Department of Education has many resources for families to understand their child’s AzM2 results and reports, and can be found on their website here: https://www.azed.gov/assessment/parents

  • Q: What if I still have a question about my child's results?

    Posted by:

A: Families are encouraged to call their student's school to inquire about student results.  School leaders are available to address questions and many have scheduled/are in the process of sharing information (i.e. websites, newsletters) and/or scheduling school opportunities to report results (i.e. coffee chats, parent organization meetings).  Check with your school to find out if something has been scheduled.

  • Q: What subjects are tested?

    Posted by:

A: The AzM2 tests include English Language Arts and Math. AzSCI is a science test and was a field test this year. The AzSCI field test does not have student level results and will be used to create the test that will be used in Spring 2022.
