Kyrene Policies & Procedures
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. §§1681 et seq.) prohibits sex discrimination in education and in employment.
This notice is provided as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Age of Discrimination Act of 1975, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Questions, complaints, or requests for additional information regarding these laws may be forwarded to the designated compliance coordinator(s).
The Kyrene School District is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination in relation to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression. Kyrene School District No. 28 (“the District”) does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.
The District will take steps to prevent the recurrence of any harassment and to correct any discriminatory effects on the complainant and others, if appropriate. Any person that believes they have been harassed or discriminated against based on his/her sex can file a complaint by contacting the District’s Title IX Coordinator.
