English Language Development

Structured English Immersion (SEI)

Goal of the ELD Program
Our English Language Development (ELD) program provides specialized instruction to support English language acquisition and ensure students’ academic success within our rigorous academic content instruction. The program includes:

  • English language instruction that develops listening, speaking, reading, vocabulary, and writing skills
  • Instruction provided by certified teachers who hold a Structured English Immersion (SEI), English as a Second Language (ESL), or Bilingual endorsement
  • Collaboration with families to support language development at home and access available resources
  • An asset-based approach that leverages and celebrates students’ linguistic strengths
