Governing Board Meetings
Regular meetings of the Governing Board are held at 6 p.m. in the Governing Board Room at the Ben Furlong Education Center, 8700 S. Kyrene Road, Tempe, usually on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. View Schedule.
During the 2023-24 school year, Board meetings will be temporarily held in an alternate location.
At least 24 hours before a Board meeting, a public notice and agenda are physically posted at the Ben Furlong Education Center. The agenda can be viewed in the Board Docs system.
All Board meetings, except executive sessions, are open to the public. Under Arizona law, the Board may call an executive session to discuss personnel matters, the purchase or lease of real property, meet-and-confer discussions, and legal matters with attorneys, among other things.
Kyrene School District values transparency and public input. The Governing Board invites public comment at regularly scheduled Board meetings. In order to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to address the Board, the President may set a time limit for individual comments, based on the number of comments submitted, as follows:
- 1–15 speakers: 3 minutes
- 16–30 speakers: 2 minutes
- 31+ speakers: 1 minute
