About The Teacher
    purple line
Hello my name is Becky Albers and this is my 9th year teaching in the Kyrene School District. I was born in Chicago but moved to Ahwatukee when I was 4 years old where I attended Colina and Monte Vista. I started taking private art lessons in middle school and continued my passion for art when I started teaching summer school during my college years at the Summer Arts Academy at Desert Vista. I have been doing that for the past 15 summers. I studied elementary education at Northern Arizona University where I received my degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I decided to go back to NAU to specialize in art and received an Art Education Endorsement in 2008.
I am very excited to be teaching your young artist in the KTA art studio. I love watching young artists develop and change their talents over time. Children have such a beautiful way of expressing the world through their eyes! I love recycling art supplies and materials to provide inventive ways of creating masterpieces. My students are always being challenged to view the world in new and exciting ways!
