About Mrs. Slette
Welcome to my Kindergarten Class! My name is Natalie Slette and I have been teaching for the past 16 years. I have experience teaching Kindergarten through 2nd grade and I'm excited to be in my 13th year as a Kindergarten teacher. I have my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with a reading endorsement and my Master's from NAU. I believe in setting high standards and working hard to achieve them.
I enjoy reading, small road trips, going to the movies and spending time with my family. I have a 9 year old son named Bennett who is at Mariposa in 4th grade and a 7 year old daughter named Isabell who will be in 2nd at Mariposa. They both keep my husband, Jon and I very busy. My husband and I enjoy spending time together as a family and going out to dinner.
The Kindergarten year is a critical time with an unbelievable amount of growth to expect from your child. This year will be filled with surprises for both you and your child as they write in our journals 4 times a week, set and achieve personal reading goals in Reading centers and master the key concepts of mathematical functions through games and explorations in Math during our small guided math groups. Science and Social Studies are connected with our new technology program and play key roles in setting the themes and focuses as we travel through this wonderful year.
I believe that communication is the key to your child's success and I will do my best to keep you aware of all that is going on in our class and with your child. I would ask that you contact me at any time with any questions or comments you have regarding your child. You can reach me at (480) 541-3904 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
