About The Teacher
Dear 1st Grade Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you and your child to FirstGrade! My name is Sarah Friesth, and Iwill be your child’s 1st grade teacher for the 2012-2013 schoolyear.
This year I will begin my 15 year teaching 1stgrade at Esperanza. Before moving to Arizona in 2005, I taught for six years in my home state of Iowa. I received my undergraduate in elementary and early childhood education at the University of Northern Iowa and my master’s in education from Viterbo University. In addition to my BA and MA, I also have a reading endorsement.
As you can imagine, teaching first grade keeps me busy, but my personal life is busy as well. My husband, Doug, and I have two boys. Tate is 11 years old and attends Centennial Middle School. Trek is 9-years-old and in the extended resource room at Colina. I am sure you will learn as much about my family this year as I will yours! Being the mommy of two boys makes for some very interesting stories to share!
I have some familiar families this year, as well as many new ones. Please know that should you have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, you are welcome to contact me at any time!
