|About Mrs. O'Rielly
Dear Parents and Students,
Your child is a valued addition to our community of learners, cooperating and collaborating with his or her peers, and I am dedicated to making this one of the most successful and positive years your child will experience.
I have many hobbies, such as reading, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family. My husband and I live in Ahwatukee and have a ten year old daughter, Ivy, and a six year old son, Max. My daughter is in fifth grade at Monte Vista and my son Max is is first grade at Monte Vista.
Professionally, this will be my 21st year teaching, all of which have been at Monte Vista. I've taught second grade for a total of 16 years and I also taught fourth grade for 4 years. I grew up in the valley myself (Mesa) and went to Dobson High School. I graduated from Brigham Young University with my bachelor's degree in Geography, and then I went to Ottawa University, where I got my teaching credentials, as well as my master's degree in Family and Child Therapy.
Our classroom will be filled with child-centered inquiries where each student can reach their potential. Meaningful learning which actively engages the students is essential for learning to occur. We will work on individual goals, to respect, and to be risk-takers in our learning environment. Our classroom community will promote a safe atmosphere to ensure that all students have a strong self worth.
Together, we can help your child have a successful 2nd grade year. I look forward to working with you this year!
