About Ms. Starr
    purple line
I was born and raised in Phoenix, graduated from Xavier High School, and received my degree in elementary education from Arizona State University. After my fifth year of teaching, we moved to Ketchikan, Alaska where I lived for 25 years. Living and teaching in Ketchikan was a wonderful adventure. I moved back to Phoenix in 2002 to be closer to family.
This is my thirteenth year at Monte Vista. I have two grown children. My son Adam lives in Tempe and is an engineer for Honeywell Aerospace. My daughter Tiffany lives in Los Angeles and is an e-commerce director for Ron Robinson, a Fred Segal store in Hollywood. I love the ocean, so I love spending time at the beach. I enjoy reading, walking, attending cultural arts and sports events. The Diamondbacks and the Sun Devils are my favorite teams!

Even after 33 years of teaching I still enjoy learning – learning new curriculum, learning new methods, and learning about each child. I hope to instill this love of learning in my students and I look forward to an exciting year in 3rd grade!
