About Ms. Anderson
Welcome to the new school year. My name is Kathy Anderson and I am thrilled to be the teacher librarian at Paloma again this year and I get to meet some new friends at Waggoner! I have spent over 24 years in the classroom including the last several years in the library at Paloma. The media center is a place that I have always loved, and I feel so fortunate to now be major part of it. I look forward to working with and connecting with all students as it is my goal to get everyone excited about literature and learning!
I have a Bachelors’ Degree in Elementary Education from ASU and a Masters’ Degree from NAU. I am designated “highly qualified” and have a Media Specialist and an Early Childhood Endorsement from the State.
I have been a valley resident for all of my life – yes, a real-live native. I have one son, Ryan, who is currently going to nursing school and is a fantastic football player. I also have a dog named Blue who is always into mischief. One day, I think I will write a book about him!
This year as in last, each class will be visiting the library every week for 45 minutes. After a library lesson, children will be able to check out or renew books. I encourage you to ask your child about what they are learning in the library, inquire about their book choices, discuss what they’re reading, and read together!
It is amazing seeing the kids learn and grow and I love what I do! I am looking forward to a great year at Paloma and Waggoner!
