Wendy lives in Ahwatukee with her 10-year-old daughter, Aubrey. They have a 6 year old Siberian Husky named Duke. Wendy moved to Arizona in 2005. Prior to living in Arizona, she lived in Orange County, California for 27 years. In her spare time Wendy likes going to spend time with her daughter and friends, and family.
Wendy has a Bachelor of Science with a major in Child and Adolescent Studies from California State University, Fullerton. She also has a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Cross-Cultural Teaching from National University. Her Arizona teaching certificate includes an Early Childhood endorsement and SEI (Structured English Immersion) endorsement.
Prior to moving to Arizona, Wendy taught fourth grade for a year and first grade for a year in California. She taught the first grade for 9 years at Sierra. In 2014-15 she taught 2nd grade. The 2018-19 school year is her 4th year of teaching Kindergarten. It will be her 14th year of teaching at Sierra and in the Kyrene School District.
Wendy loves teaching. She loves seeing students grow academically and socially, in so many ways and it makes teaching so exciting and rewarding. They are constantly on the move in her room, which makes learning fun for the children in the classroom.
Wendy feels proud and privileged to teach at Sierra and for the Kyrene School District. Every year is a new learning experience for herself and the children in her classroom. .
