• Kyrene School District COVID-19 Dashboard

Active Case Counts, Case Rates and Community Transmission Levels

Kyrene School District provides daily COVID-19 case counts and weekly COVID-19 case rates for the purpose of public monitoring. The case rate dashboard additionally includes the weekly community transmission level for each school zip code, as reported by the Maricopa County Department of public Health (MCDPH). The case count and case rate dashboards reflect the current number of confirmed, active* COVID-19 cases, as reported through the District’s designated COVID reporting system only. Families and staff are encouraged to report positive tests, to help ensure the most accurate data possible. If a case impacts individuals on more than one campus, it will appear only once on the dashboard, at the primary location.

  • *For the purposes of this dashboard, an active case is any COVID case in which the positive individual was present on a Kyrene campus, school bus or facility up to 48 hours prior to the onset of symptoms or a positive test. Cases are active for 10 days after the onset of symptoms or 10 days after a positive test, if asymptomatic.

Daily case count: positive cases are added, and resolved cases removed, daily at midnight.

Weekly case rate: updates every Thursday in alignment with the County’s weekly reporting timeline. Weekly case rates are calculated using data from the prior Sunday. The school's weekly active case rate is the number of active cases divided by the site’s total population (student and staff).
