-
Will preschool programs be offered in-person?
Yes, Preschool programs will continue to operate through out the school year.
-
What safety protocols will be in place for Preschool?
Kyrene Preschools will be implementing safety protocols in alignment with school day plans, with modifications, as appropriate. For all Kyrene protocols, visit the Safety Measures page.
Program staff will increase cleaning and sanitization during program hours of high touch areas and reinforcing strict handwashing routines for students and staff.
Kyrene will follow the CDC's "No Sharing" guidelines with all food, drinks, and personal belongings, to the extent possible. Equipment sharing may be unavoidable in some specific programs. Program materials will be sanitized as appropriate, but no less than nightly.
-
Are face coverings required for Preschool?
Yes. In alignment with school safety protocols, face coverings will be required. More information about face coverings.
-
Are preschool hours changing to match the new school hours?
Integrated Preschool will be offered for 2.5 hours per day and will continue to align with school schedules. Community and Signature preschool hours will not change. Please visit the Preschool Options and Tuition page for details.
-
How might pricing for Preschool be impacted?
Kyrene will continue to offer Preschool programs, including the 3-day option in Community Preschool and the 5 half-day option for Signature Preschool.
Tuition will follow a new payment calendar and be invoiced using a weekly rate for Community and Signature Preschool. This does not change the actual tuition paid for the school year but may impact your monthly tuition due. For a complete list of program options and tuition rates, families should visit www.kyrene.org/communityed.
The tuition for typically developing children in Kyrene Integrated Preschool will be reduced to $72.37/week ($289.48 for a four week period). -
If I choose not to send my child to preschool once school begins, can their spot be saved?
Families who chose to defer the start of school for their preschool child will need to withdraw to avoid being invoiced. As families chose to return, contracts will be accepted based on availability in the program.
Before/After School
-
Will before/after school be available during distance learning?
Yes, Kids Club and After Hours will be available at regional locations. Regular Kids Club and After Hours programming will resume when we return to school. Transportation will be provided to students participating in-person for distance learning support at their home school. Parent pick up and drop off will take place at the regional Kids Club site. Visit the Regional Contingency Camp - Before & After Care page for specific program and tuition information.
-
What safety protocols will be in place for before/after-school programs?
Community Education will be implementing safety protocols in alignment with school day plans, with modifications, as appropriate. For all Kyrene protocols, please visit the Safety Measures page.
-
Are face coverings required for before/after-school programs?
Yes. In alignment with school safety protocols, face coverings will be required. More information about face coverings.
-
How will social distancing be managed in before/after-school programs?
Wherever possible students in Kids Club and After Hours will be grouped into static grade level cohorts (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) and separated into multiple classroom spaces as appropriate to limit larger groupings of students.
Students will report directly to their assigned program space when they arrive.
To limit exposure to other students, cohorts will stay together throughout the program time including eating snacks and participating in active games/playground time. -
How might before/after school program hours and pricing be impacted?
Kyrene will continue to offer before/after school programs. In order to create cohorts in Kids Club and After Hours, the "Pick Your Day" and "Drop In" options are going to be suspended for this school year, as it creates too much variability in student attendance. However, in addition to the 5-day option, 1-day and 3-day options will continue to be offered. Kids Club hours have been changed, and program will end at 6:00pm.
On June 23, the Governing Board approved new tuition rates proportional to the amount of time students spend in program.
For a complete list of program options and tuition rates, families should visit kyrene.org/communityed -
What if I am starting on the Flex plan and do not need Kids Club or After Hours right away?
Families who chose to participate in Flex Distance Learning and have already submitted a contract will need to request a schedule change in Eleyo with the anticipated start date to avoid being invoiced.
Families who have yet to register for Kids Club or After Hours, please submit your contract with your anticipated start date. The contract will remain pending until 1 month prior to your anticipated start date and will be approved based on availability. Changing or submitting contracts now is important as it will allow us to appropriately staff as start days approach.
-
Will invoices be updated and prorated to adjust to the school start date?
Yes. Invoices will follow the invoicing and payment calendar and billed on a weekly rate to ensure families are appropirately charged.
