The 8th grade team wanted to make sure to share some important information about Promotion this year. It will be important that you read this entire email. If you did not know, Promotion Ceremony is on Wednesday, May 22nd in the evening. The ceremonies will be held at the Desert Vista auditorium. Not only does the auditorium give us a bit more formality, it provides comfortable seating (with wheelchair access) and plenty of parking. Here are some pieces of information that we wanted to share with you:
First, we have two ceremonies. Instead of splitting students based on their last names, we are giving families a chance to choose which ceremony works best for them. Please fill out the google form linked below when you are done reading the email.
There is a capacity limit, so once a ceremony has filled up, we cannot add others. Please only respond once per student. Coordinate with all family members to ensure proper accommodations. The sign up will close on May 1st.
Second, each student will be given up to 4 tickets for guests to come (the student does not need a ticket). We do have a limited number of seats so for everyone’s comfort, we have to limit it. If we end up with extra tickets for the ceremony, we will let families know that they are available for purchase on a first come, first served basis. This will not be until after May 3rd- so please don’t ask now.
Lastly, we ask for your help in assuring your students wear age appropriate clothing to the ceremony. Prom dresses, tuxedos, shorts, athletic wear, jeans, and t-shirts are not appropriate.

7:00 pm-8:15 pm Students arrive at 6:30 pm
