• Action Items

    Every member of the Altadeña Band (both new and returning) must complete the following checklist as soon as possible.

    1. Remember to join Mr. Ehrler's Zoom session on Tuesday, August 18th! Lots of important information will be shared! to rent your instrument, purchase supplies, and meet with members of our band booster executive board. At least one representative from each family should attend!
      1. Tuesday, August 18th @ 6:00pm!
      2. Meeting link can be found in the email sent by Mr. Ehrler on August 17th, 2020!
    2. Complete the Altadeña Band Handbook and Student Information Form, if you have not already done so.
    3. Sync the Band's Google Calendar with your own.
    4. Register for the appropriate Google Classroom.
    5. Register for SmartMusic.
    6. Purchase all of the necessary materials.
    7. Rent an instrument!
      1. For Flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, Alto Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones, and Percussion bell kits, you must rent an instrument from an outside vendor. Here are two options that most of our families use:

      2. For Bassoons, Tenor Saxophones, Bari Saxophones, French Horns, Euphoniums, Tubas, and Marimbas, you will need to pick one up from Altadena.
        1. Instrument pick-up will happen on Thursday, August 20th. To sign up for a time-slot, click the link:

          2. If picking up a larger instrument, it will be $40 at the time of pickup. Bring your checkbook or $40 cash. We do not accept cards for this transaction.
          3. We will provide instrument rental contracts at the time of pick-up.
    8. See what it would take to get private lessons for my child. Not required this year but highly encouraged! Here is a list of phenomenal private teachers!
