PTO General Board Meeting
Monday, May 2nd 6:00 pm
In-Person, Phoenix AZ 85048
AGENDA ITEMS
Intro
Welcome to those in attendance
Thank you’s to a successful year, Staff for their support, outgoing board members, volunteers throughout the year
Treasury Update
Started $45 K, Spent $80K will have about $80k going forward (throughout year $118K)
Currently some outstanding bills with yearbooks and grants ***NEED TO ENCOURAGE TEACHERS TO USE OR THEY LOSE
The expected balance will be roughly $15-$20K more than we started with after successful fundraising (Takeout Tuesdays, APEX)
WHAT CAN WE SPEND OUR $ ON?
Parking Signs - Dr. Cupp will let us know if this is a need/want
Shade Structure…thoughts on needing a new one? We believe this falls to us, not district
Computers for Exec Members: New one for Treasurer to expedite spreadsheets, work for this position; Also possibly a tablet for Secretary to take to events to record minutes
We want to work on/emphasize our thoughts/plans for SPENDING next year (being mindful that we had 5+ mos of activities we planned canceled this past school year due to Covid, and limited events in the 2nd half due to Covid. However our projected calendar for the 2021-22 school year details what we had planned/budgeted for)
Perhaps increase Library budget: chairs, how long has it been since they’ve been able to purchase new books?
Will need to fund Reading Wall budget/ Beehive/ Hospitality
We will welcome back a Workroom Volunteer Committee
Continue with Takeout Tuesdays, but also putting an emphasis on some In-Person Family Night Dinners; Start working with Hub as possibility for a Welcome Back Dinner to start the School Year (would they do trivia for families?)
