• Hello and welcome! My name is Gimena Velazquez and I’m thrilled to be your new 7th grade Science teacher. It’s an honor to be a part of your education.

I was born in Uruguay (I’m sure most of you haven’t heard of it, but it’s south of Brazil) but raised in Florida. I attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!!) and graduated in 2018 with a degree in Mathematics. Shortly after, I moved to Arizona and worked as a long term 7th grade Science substitute teacher at Centennial. After working at Centennial for a couple of months, I knew that this was where I was supposed to be.

While not working, I love spending time with my very awesome dog, Zeke. I also loving hiking, fishing and playing pickleball. While its too hot outside, I love doing jigsaw puzzles and playing board games.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your parents. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am positive this will be a great year! As always, Go Gators!!

    Sincerely,

    Gimena Velazquez
