About the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director

Dear Jaguar Families and Students,

It is an honor to serve as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Aprende Middle School. I am honored to call Kyrene Aprende my home as I had served as the 6^th grade Academic and Behavioral Specialist for the past 5 years. I am committed to providing academic and behavioral support in a positive and safe learning environment for all students. As the Assistant Principal, I will primarily be providing support to our 8^th grade students and families. Aprende’ s faculty and staff are dedicated to fostering a culture that promotes learning, enthusiasm, and achievement for all students.

Originally from South Bend, Indiana, I received my BS degree in Theatre/Speech Communications and Secondary Education from Ball State University and my MS in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. Within my 24 years in education, I have proudly served as a Theatre Arts teacher, Instructional Leader and Assistant Principal for the Yuma Union High School District and as an IB Teacher for the Phoenix Union High School District.
