About Mrs. WoulfDear Students and Parents,
Welcome to 6th Grade Science, and Aprende Middle School, home of the Jaguars!
I hope that you have a wonderful summer and that you are excited to begin the 2018-2019 school year. I am very excited to be teaching at Aprende, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic year.
I love Science and exploring the earth and all the mysteries it holds. I look forward to sharing what I know with your child. In today’s world it is very important to be able to think critically because of all the wonderful opportunities these skills provide. I have many exciting ideas, techniques, and goals for your child so that learning Science can be both challenging and fun.
I am a graduate of Loyola-Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. After college I went to work for Pacific Bell. I stayed there for 18 years, and worked in a variety of jobs, both non-management and management. My husband Jim and I have 2 children, Allison ( a graduate of the University of Redlands, currently working as an 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher in the Kyrene District), and DJ (employed by Ewing Irrigation in Phoenix). I also have 2 step-sons (Toby and Kyle) that are married and live in California. I have 5 adorable grandchildren named Connor, Carter, Sienna, Landen, and Hunter.
After moving to Arizona in 1992, I returned to college and transitioned to a teaching career. I earned my Post-Bac Certificate from the University of Phoenix, and a year later returned to earn my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. This will be my 20th year teaching, and my 19th year in the Kyrene District.
Parents, should you ever need to speak to me about your child’s progress, please contact me. I will be in contact with parents when there are issues to be discussed. Please also note that contact is often through emails rather than phone calls.
Again, I look forward to working with all of you, and I am positive that with your support we can make this a successful and productive year. I hope your child leaves at the end of the year with a curiosity about life and the world around them and a zest for learning answers through science.
Sincerely,Mrs. Woulf
