I will be your child's first grade teacher this year, and I couldn't be more excited! We are going to have an amazing year learning, growing, and spreading kindess together. This is my third year as a Mirada Monarch and since stepping through the door, I can tell that it is the place for me.
I grew up in a small rural town in New Hampshire, a place where I spend most of my summer days. I graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education. Shortly after graduation I moved to Arizona and began my teaching career in the Kyrene School District. I spent 17 years teaching in various grade levels (including K-5 resource, 3rd, 2nd and 1st) at Lomas Elementary School. I received my Masters from Arizona State University in Curriculum and Instruction and I also have my National Board Certification; Early Childhood Generalist. I truly am a lifelong learner and you can always find me trying to find the next new teaching strategy.
When I am not teaching I am laughing and playing with my husband and our three kids (Spencer 11, Colby 8 and Claire 5). We love to travel, play board games, and take care of our goldendoodle Huey.
I believe in creating a safe and loving classroom community where students are able to be themselves and blossom into the very best they can be. We will work hard, while having fun and creating special memories together. First Grade here we come, let's do this!
