About Ms. Pelley
Hello, and welcome to a fantastic new year at Monte Vista! My name is Anna Pelley; I am pleased to be your fourth grade teacher this year. I cannot wait to get to know the amazing YOU!
This will be my third year at Monte Vista. I previously taught two years in third grade and this will be my first year in fourth! I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Structured English Immersion. For the past two years, I have been the English Language Arts Cadre for grades 3-5 at Monte Vista. Learning is an ongoing passion of mine and I cannot wait to share this love with you! I believe that each child is gifted with special, unique talents and strengths and they will be utilized every day to place your "stamp" on Monte Vista!
I was born in Chandler, Arizona and grew up in the Kyrene School District. As a child, I attended Kyrene del Cielo, Aprende Middle School, and Corona del Sol High School. I am so lucky to teach in the community I grew up in!
I believe all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential as the "whole child". I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.
It is my mission to instill a love for learning so students become lifelonger learners. Curiousity is our greatest gift! I have a strong belief that children grow into the intellectual life that surrounds them. This classroom will provide a safe space for expression while creating a positive learning environment where your child will flourish with confidence, finding their niche along the way!
When I am not teaching, I love trying new restaurants, going to the movies, and spending time with friends and family! I also enjoy reading a good book, taking road trips, and being in nature!
Open communication is key in your child's success. I strongly believe the partnership between teacher, child, and parent makes all the difference in your child's academic year. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I look forward to getting to know each of you!
