• Welcome students and families to Mrs. Elisco's Language and Liteature website!

I am looking forward to a fabulous year of learning, creativity and student achievement. This will be my 13th year in education. I am so excited to be teaching Middle School Language and Literature. I love to read and write and hope my students will come to find an appreciation for these disciplines as well.  I am a Sun Devil at heart and have attended Arizona State University for all levels of my collegiate education. I hold my BA in Secondary Education English, M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language and Literacy and an M.Ed in Educational Administration- Principalship. I have been an Assistant Principal and Principal and I am happy to be back in the classroom!

Most importantly, I enjoy teaching middle school students how to find joy in reading and become authors. Some of my favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, Outliers, The Maze Runner, The Hunger Games, and anything by the author John Green. Students, get ready to live and breathe reading and writing this year!

Some interesting facts about me, is that I am married to my best friend and husband, Craig, for six years now. We have a wonderful daughter named Mila who just turned two and a cat that we adopted from the Arizona Humane society named Oscar. Mila loves Splash Pads, anything Minnie Mouse, and eating chicken nuggets. Oscar enjoys playing fetch and eating treats. Activities that make me feel relaxed and put a smile on my face are practicing Summits hot Yoga, hiking, drinking coffee, eating sushi and pizza (not simultaneously), and relaxing on the beach with a good book!

I am excited for a fabulous 2020-2021 school year at KDA and can't wait to start our year of learning.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Elisco
