Welcome to First Grade and the 2020-2021 school year! This is such an exciting time of year for your child, as well as for me. I am thrilled to be starting my second year as a First Grade teacher with Kyrene School District, and my fourth year of teaching overall! I can honestly say there is no place I would rather be!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am originally from Miamisburg, Ohio, but have lived in Arizona for many years. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from The Ohio State University. After working in the staffing industry as a recruiter for a number of years, I decided to return to school to earn my teacher certification in Elementary Education.
I have a wonderful wife of ~11 years and two beautiful children—one starting in 6th grade at Altadena, and one entering 3rd grade at Cerritos.
I have lived in Ahwatukee for almost 10+ years. I love to spend time with my family, travel, play sports and games.
During the school year, your child and I will be spending many hours together. I want your child to look forward to coming to school and to always feel a part of our classroom community. My goal as a teacher is to help each child grow to his or her potential, both academically and personally.
My commitment to you is that I will always have your child's best interest in mind and keep you informed about our classroom learning and your child's academic growth.
I believe education is a three-way commitment between students, teachers, and parents. Making this a successful year for your child is our joint effort. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child this school year. Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions or concerns you may have. Together we will make this a rewarding, successful year for your child!
