    Learning, Leading, Achieving

Schools emphasize high academic standards, invite strong parental involvement, and support a “whole child” approach to learning. Kyrene inspires students to develop a passion for learning, leading and achieving! There are 25 schools in the District (18 elementary, 6 middle schools and one K-8). The District’s boundaries encompass all of Ahwatukee, and parts of Chandler, Guadalupe, Tempe, and the Gila River Indian Reservation.

Kyrene provides many opportunities for children 3-5 years of age. These high-quality programs are geared to ensure children enter kindergarten ready to learn. All programs incorporate age-appropriate activities that help children reach their full potential cognitively, socially, physically and emotionally. Signature programs are designed around specific learning philosophies such as Reggio Emilia, arts integration, traditional, and language immersion.

    Preschool Options

Kyrene offers an engaging and interactive curriculum that ensures children receive the individualized attention needed to excel. Students learn foundational skills for lifelong learning. Programs are tuition-free, full-day (with half-day options). For admission to kindergarten, it is recommend that children are five years old before September 1 of the current school year. For children who turn five between September 1 and December 31, an early entrance screening process can determine if kindergarten is in a child’s best interest.

    Middle School

The middle school program establishes consistency in academic excellence. 6th grade students receive their core instruction from a team of teachers who share the same group of students. 7th and 8th grades follow a more flexible model, allowing a team approach with access to different levels of exploratory options.
