• Count me in! Volunteer Service Hour Requirement

     


    According to the Bylaws (Rev. 7/2021), ARTICLE VII: ACTIVITIES:

    Section 3: Members are expected to complete 30 hours of individual service hours for the school and/or community. 

    1. Members may complete up to 10 hours over summer break.
    2. Members may complete up to an additional 5 hours before school begins for specifically helping teachers at KMS to prepare for the start of the school year.. 
    3. Members may only count up to 3 hours of service for helping adults in their place of employment. 
    4. Members may not count hours performed for immediate family members. 
    5. fMembers may not count WEB hours.
    6. Members must participate in the KMS recycling service project. (A small number of service hours will be given for this.)
    7. Members will earn service hours for attendance to chapter meetings. 
      1. All members that attend less than 80% of the regularly scheduled chapter meting will not earn any service hours. 
      2. All members who attend 80% of the regularly scheduled chapter meetings will earn 1 service hour.
      3. All members who attend 90% of the regularly scheduled chapter meetings will earn 2 service hours.
      4. All members who attend 100% of the regularly scheduled chapter meetings will earn 3 service hours.

    Section 4: All members shall participate in the KMS recycling service project (days, times, and activities TBD.)

    1. All members shall participate in a minimum of 80% of their assigned days/times. 
    2. Any member who falls below 80% shall be placed on probation. 
    3. All members shall earn service hours for participation. 
      1. All members who participate in 80% of the their assigned days/times will earn 1 service hour. 
      2. All members who participate in 90% of their assigned days/times will earn 2 service hours.
      3. All members who participate in 100% of their assigned days/time will earn 3 service hours.
    4. All members shall be expected to participate in an alternate activity, at the discretion of the advisers, in the event that the campus wide recycling services are not able to be performed.

    Section 5: Parents and guardians are encouraged to sponsor or assist with chapter service projects and activities.
