    About Mr. Poveromo

    Dear Parents and Students,

I'm excited to start another year of teaching technology at Pueblo Middle School! In addition to teaching Multimedia/Digital Arts to all three grade levels, I will also be introducing a new Computer Science class to some of our incoming 6th graders.

I've taught technology at the middle school level for 18 years in the Kyrene District and have also provided technology integration for Kyrene schools as an Educational Technology Specialist. This role provided me with a great opportunity to work directly with teachers and support their instruction with students. Now I'm back in the classroom for my second year at Pueblo. As always, I look forward to sharing my passion for technology with my students.

I'm originally from New York and also lived in Colorado; I've been in Arizona since 1992. My educational background includes a BA in History from Arizona State University and an MS in Education Media Design & Technology from Full Sail University. I completed my thesis research on mobile learning with student cell phones and have developed educational apps for student-owned mobile devices. I've come to learn that the best part of teaching technology is exploring how it can be used to engage and inspire students. I wonder what technology will look like when my son is old enough to have his first mobile phone.

Here's to an amazing year of learning with technology!
