Greetings to all of my fourth graders and their families! My name is Vico Guerrero and I have 25 years of experience teaching grades 4th through 6th grade. I have two daughters---Gabrielle is a junior at ASU majoring in Business & Tourism and Kristiana is entering her freshman year as a business major. My wife is a communication professor at ASU. The four of us spend time in San Diego where my wife and I grew up. I enjoy being at the beach doing my favorite activity, surfing. I also enjoy traveling, reading, playing sports, keeping up my German skills, and visiting amusement parks.
I received a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University where I majored in Economics and minored in German. I earned my teaching certificate at The University of Arizona and completed a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at ASU.
I believe in challenging myself and my students to be life-long learners who are curious and take the knowledge that they learn in the classroom and apply it to real-life situations. I hope to inspire each one of my students to cultivate a passion for learning. This includes building a classroom community where all members are valued for their unique contributions to our collaborative learning environment. As we begin this year, using distance learning as our platform, we will tackle digital learning to the best of our abilities. Together, we will make this a positive experience as we hope real soon to transfer back into the classroom.
It’s always exciting to start a new year establishing a community of learners who are intrigued by the concept of acquiring knowledge. I look forward to a great year!!!
