    All About Mrs. Layton
    purple line
As an Arizona Native, I was born in Mesa and grew up in Tempe/Mesa.  My husband is also a native and grew up in Tempe.  We married in 1994 and have welcomed two children: my daughter, Heather, also an ASU graduate, lives with her husband and rescue dog in Chandler. My son, Eric, recently graduated from Corona del Sol high school and is currently serving a church mission in Ecuador.

I received my degree in Music Education from Arizona State University with my studies concentrating in piano and voice.  While piano was my primary instrument of study, I fell in love with choral music while attending ASU.  I sang with the Women's Chorus and the Concert Choir.  One of my favorite memories was singing live for Eric Whitacre and participating in one of his master classes.

I love to play the piano and enjoy accompanying various musicians and choirs, but I also love to sing and enjoy singing in my church choirs and other ensembles in the East Valley when my schedule permits.  Our family spends a lot of time performing or attending each others' performances which keeps us busy!  I still love learning new music and how to play different instruments.

My non-music hobbies include gardening, learning how to make new recipes, and curling up to a good book on my Kindle!

I am very excited to work with the amazing students at Brisas this year!
