About Ms. Cabano
Even though I am beginning my 23nd year in education, I am still very passionate about teaching and helping students gain passion for learning. I knew from age 5 that I wanted to be a teacher, but was not sure how I was going to accomplish this dream because I was a struggling student in reading. In 3rd grade, my teachers and parents realized I was dyslexic. With a lot of help and support, I was able to learn strategies and be successful. However, I still struggle with dyslexia, which shows up quite frequently in spelling errors. I share this with my students so they can see that success is not something that just happens, but that it comes with hard work and perseverance.
Here is a little bit about me and my personal life. I am a proud native Texan who moved to Arizona 2 years ago. I have come to love Arizona as much as Texas.I have two handsome sons, Zachory (age 28) and Nicholas (age 24). I received my undergraduate degree from UT@Tyler in English and History. Then I received my masters in Reading from Nova Southeastern University and my masters in Administration Leadership from Lamar University. I am looking forward to an exciting and fun year.
